FEU still undefeated in UAAP men’s volleyball

Far Eastern University remained undefeated in the men’s division after it pulled off a 25-12, 23-25, 27-25, 28-26 victory over a hard-fighting National University side in the 73rd UAAP men’s volleyball tournament on Saturday at the San Juan Arena.

It was the Tamaraws’ third straight win to strengthen their bid to reclaim the title they last won in 2006.

Rodolfo Labrador Jr. led FEU’s assault, scoring 19 points. La Salle also remained undefeated after two games after squeezing out a 25-16, 25-18, 19-25, 17-25, 15-12 triumph against University of the Philippines.

Chris Macasaet had 21 hits and four blocks while Emilio Lee had 13 hits, 2 blocks and 2 aces to lift the Green Archers to solo second spot.

In the other women’s game, Shakey's V-League Season 7 second conference champion Adamson posted a thrilling come-from-behind 25-17, 23-25, 14-25, 25-14, 15-10 win over FEU.

Angela Benting paced the Lady Falcons with 19 points while third-year star Pau Soriano contributed 18 markers as the Lady Falcons improved to an even 1-1 slate after losing to La Salle on Sunday.

Shiela Marie Pineda also had solid production with 15 points for Adamson.
Rosemarie Vargas, one of the new faces on the revamped FEU side, had 17 points for the Lady Tamaraws that fell to a 0-2 slate
