FEU alum is Asia’s long jump queen

 

A Far Eastern University alum - Philippine’s pride Marestella Torres was named as the new Asia’s long jump queen which was previously held by a Filipina way back 20 years ago by no less than, Elma Muros- Posadas, a fellow Tamaraw alumna. (featured at ABS-CBN’s Bandila recently, watch video below)  Last Year, Torres captured the long jump gold during the Asian Athletics Championship in Guangzhou, China – Philippines’ first since Lydia De Vega (1987), another fellow Tamaraw. Torres likewise  triumphed in the 23rd SEA Games Gold Medalist (Manila Philippines); Silver medalist, Women’s Long Jump, 16th Asian Athletic Championships, Korea (2005) and an Olympian 2008 Beijing Olympics, among others.
