Tams exact revenge against Warriors

The FEU Tamaraws exacted revenge against their last season’s UAAP final four tormentor, University of the East Red Warriors, who ousted them out of the finals despite the former’s twice-to-beat edge.  The Thursday’s victory over warriors at the Araneta Coliseum was FEU’s third straight win to stay atop of the UAAP 73 standing - unbeaten.

Standing

FEU 3-0
Ateneo 2-1
La Salle 2-1
Adamson 2-1
UST 2-1
NU 1-2
UE 0-3
UP 0-3

FEU’s Paul Sanga amassed 18 points on 6-of-8 three-point shooting while center and Smart Gilas mainstay Aldrech Ramos collected 17 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists. Ryan Roose Garcia, who averaged 21.5 points in FEU’s first two games earning him the UAAP Press Corps Player of the Week recognition, tallied 14 points with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.  Big man Reil Cervantes finished with 11 points and 9 rebounds.

FEU Coach Glenn Capacio clarified though that the win “is not yet sweet revenge” as he further explained that “Iba yung Final Four, masakit yun, but this is one step para makabawi…Hangga’t hindi nakukuha yung championship, hindi revenge yun.”

Red Warrior Paul Lee buried 27 points all throughout the first three quarters but was halted by the Tamaraws in the last canto rendering him scoreless. “Paul Lee is terrific. I don't know why he plays well against us but I'm happy that we were able to control him. Maybe he was tired.”, said Capacio.
