UST Tigresses with head coach Shaq Delos Santos

V-League commissioner Tony Liao announced the  UST Tigresses' withdrawal from the league’s forthcoming conference on Monday, eleven days after the EspaƱa-based tossers completed a "three-peat" championship run at the expense of the San Sebastian College. The second conference of the country’s popular volleyball league starts earlier this year – July 11, a day after the opening of UAAP 73.

The coaching staff of UST explained that their players needed to take a break to have time to focus on their studies, after all they have joined and won all known major volleyball tournament last year, including the V-league, UNIGAMES and UAAP, among others.

Meanwhile, Perpetual and National University will join V-league for the first time with the league’s regular competing teams: SSC, CSB, Ateneo, Lyceum, Adamson, and Far Eastern University.
