NCAA champion San Sebastian overpowered La Salle, 84-76, to complete the semifinal cast of the 2010 Filoil Flying V First Five Preseason Invitational Cup at The Arena in San Juan. The Stags got 24 points from Calvin Abueva and 17 from Ronald Pascual and will meet Jose Rizal University today at 4 p.m. in one of the two semifinal matches.
Meanwhile, The JRU Heavy Bombers earned a spot in the Final Four after beating San Beda, 67-64.
In the other semis encounter, Far Eastern University, the defending champion, battles Adamson at 2 p.m. FEU earlier, ousted University of the Philippines, 71-59, while Adamson stunned UAAP champion Ateneo, 66-59, in Wednesday’s encounters.
For the first time, the league is opening up the gates at The Arena for FREE from the Semi-final round until the finals on June 13, Sunday.
The non-televised cheerleading competition will also proceed right after the finals, which features the Top 8 cheering squads of the tournament. (excluding the FEU cheering squad)
