FEU Tams cemented it’s twice to beat edge

In a tight ball game Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Arena,  The FEU Tamaraws sealed the much-prized twice to beat advantage of the 72nd Season of the UAAP, in the same way Ateneo possesses the like. FEU’s Reil  Cervantes had a monster performance including a huge block in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter though DLSU rookie Joseph Marata managed to shot a cold-blooded three, forcing the fifth deadlock of the game at 65 points all, thus sending the game into overtime.

While in the overtime, FEU started a quick two shot courtesy of another rookie standout, FEU’s RR Garcia. The closest point the Archers had with the Tamaraws in the last seconds of the overtime was 70-69 (single point lead by FEU), until Garcia draws a foul making the lead into two. (71-69) La Salle called a timeout during the last 6 seconds game time, but Archer Marata failed to execute a two point shot hence calling the match in favor of FEU.

For La Salle, the only way for them to make it to the semis is for UST to lose its last two games and of course to win its last assignment which is the NU Bulldogs. With this scenario, La Salle and UST will be tied at 6-8 and this will result in a playoff.

The next and last game for the Tamaraws is on Sept. 12, a day prior the UAAP 72 Cheerdance Competition as Against the top team, Ateneo Blue Eagles at the Araneta Coliseum.
