FEU Tams dismantle UST Tigers

FEU Tamaraws claims its fifth straight win via 90-63 blowout victory yesterday to grab a share of the lead with the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the first round of UAAP 72 Basketball at the Big Dome Thursday. The Morayta-based cagers limited the scoring output of King Tiger Dylan Ababou to only 10 points which is half of his average turnout.

According to Reports, King Tiger Ababou along with his teammate Chris Camus and La Salle’s Mark Jovet Mendoza, escaped a one-game suspension as the UAAP board cited “inconsistencies in the application of the rules.”

“The rule says if anyone was meted an unsportsmanlike foul, he should be thrown out of the game [and be meted] a one game suspension,” Fr. Ermito de Sagon, the league’s technical head, said. “What happened here is they were not thrown out of the game.”

Commissioner Joe Lipa on Tuesday recommended a one-game ban on the three players for figuring in separate punching incidents in Sunday’s double overtime thriller won by the Green Archers, 101-92, over the Tigers.

FEU’s Aldrech Ramos led the Tamaraws as he blast with a career-high performance of 22 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. This game was the lowest output for UST this season, so far.
