“New Moon” Trailer is out: the Twilight saga continues

THE SAGA CONTINUES

After the phenomenal success of the movie "Twilight”, that has earned a total of US$ 382,133,300 in worldwide box office as of May 30, 2009; film distributor Summit Entertainment is set to premiere its sequel “New Moon” on November 20, 2009 based on  the Twilight series authored by Stephanie Meyer and directed by the Golden Compass director Chris Weitz.  "New Moon" follows human teen Bella (Kristen Stewart) as she wrestles with her love for vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and an attraction for werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Like teen love isn't complicated enough, a pack of elder vampires is out to keep Bella and her suitors apart.

The much awaited New Moon Trailer (watch it below) debuted at the 18th annual MTV Movie Awards held at the Gibson Amphitheatre on May 31, 2009 in Universal City, California; where the Twilight movie swept up five awards, namely the best kiss, best fight, best female performance (Kirsten Stewart), best male breakthrough performance (Robert Pattinson) and ultimately the best movie honor, defeating Academy Award winner, Slumdog Millionaire. Stephanie Mayer in her blog thanked the Twilight Fans for the support. “Thank you, everybody who voted at the MTV Movie Awards! It was awesome to see Twilight get so much love. Congratulations to Catherine and Rob and Kristen and all of the cast and everyone at Summit and everybody on the crew! You all did an amazing job and you deserve your popcorn!”, Meyer said.

LEAKED SCRIPTS

Meanwhile, the New Moon script penned by Melissa Rosenberg have been leaked online weeks ago on the popular micro-blogging site, Twitter. Presently, the twitter account of that person who first leaked the script is now locked and most of the scripts posted online were removed due to legal consideration asserted by Summit. REDeem FEU has obtained a copy of the alleged leaked second draft script, but out of respect for Summit Entertainment and its affiliates, We will not publish it in any of our network sites.

It is interesting to point that after the issue of the leaked script a lady from St. Louis named Casey Ray, a beauty salon owner found the real script in the trash can,the lady thought of selling it to tabloids  but decided to return it back to its rightful owners. As a pay back, New Moon filmmakers invited the lady to the movie’s premiere and get the script back to her signed by Pattinson and other stars, certainly the best memorabilia yet a Twilight fan might have.

According to reports, the second Twilight installment had a slightly increased budget of $50 million  and that Summit Entertainment had already attained the rights to all of the remaining books of the Twilight series. In fact, as early as February this year Summit approved the film adaptation of Eclipse, the third novel. The film is said to be tentatively released by June 30, 2010. It was also announced that New Moon director, Chris Weitz will not be directing the film as what Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke did when she decided not to direct New Moon for the reason of time restrictions.
