Top 17 cheerleading squads of Philippine colleges and universities battled it out for the NCC finals, March 15 at the Ynarez Gym in Pasig. The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta won the championship title, upsetting the CCP Bobcats into its quest of a grand slam championship. Instead the Bobcats settled for the fourth place. The FEU Cheering squad on the other hand ranked 6th among the 17 finalists and was given an award of the most energetic team and rookie of the year recognition. In the High school category, the Pasig Catholic College won the championship accolade. The whole event was covered exclusively by ABS-CBN sports which will be aired on March 23 (Easter Sunday) for the High school finals and March 30 for the college finals at Studio 23.
