Martina Aileen de las Alas popularly known as Ai-Ai wins the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actress.
A very emotional Ai-Ai de las Alas receives her best actress trophy at the 36th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Awards Night at the Meralco Theater for her movie Ang Tanging Ina (Last na ‘To), the third and final installment of Star Cinema’s comedy franchise, the same movie also won the coveted Best Picture Award and 7 other awards including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Story and Best Supporting Actress.
Among others, the comedy film was also a blockbuster hit on its first day of opening (Christmas Day) which rakes in a gross of 20 million pesos behind the top-grossing Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote with 31 million pesos.
Ai-Ai was a Mass Communication graduate of Far Eastern University, Batch 1985. Last November 20, she celebrated her 20 years in the Philippine showbiz industry thus continuing the stature she has established for herself – a comedy royalty.
Ai-Ai says she only has one wish left: “Sana po mapangasawa ko na si Vic Sotto para sa next film fest, hindi na kami magkalaban at sa amin na ang lahat ng kita.”
