Eagles, Tams clash for top spot

admu - feu insert_opt Manila – After an anti-climactic penultimate day comes the exciting climax on the final day of the eliminations in the 72nd UAAP men’s basketball at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.

Defending champion Ateneo Blue Eagles and second running Far Eastern University Tamaraws collide in what could be a preview of the finals at 4 p.m. with the top spot at stake.

The Blue Eagles (12-1) and the Tamaraws (11-2), who both played true to their pre-season billing, aim to end the elimination round on a high note and more importantly, the momentum heading to the Final Four.

Ateneo simply needs to win to maintain its no. 1 ranking and duplicate its 13-1 elimination finish last season en route to the title.

Owing to the Eagles’ 63-59 first round victory, FEU must need to win by five or more points to take away the pole position.
