The sex video scandal of popular actress Katrina Halili and celebrity doctor, Hayden Kho has become the “talk of the town” today, where its massive popularity was far-reaching that has intrigued Filipinos all over the world as a result of the advent of the 21st century mass media, particularly the internet. The controversy ended up in the halls of the Senate where it is being investigated, together with other agencies of the government, including the PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) because of the inclusion of drug use in the issue.
REVILLA: KHO WAS “INSANE”
During a privilege speech of Senator Bong Revilla in the Senate Session Hall last May 19th, He demanded the revocation of medical license of celebrity model Hayden Kho in connection with the latter's malicious spreading of his "sex video" with actress Katrina Halili. In his privilege speech, the senator stressed that it is an unbecoming conduct of a professional to destroy the reputation and humiliate another person by circulating what should be treated as an intimately private activity. He cited Section 24 of the Republic Act No. 2382 or the Medical Act of 1959 whereby immoral or dishonorable conduct are among the grounds for reprimand, suspension or revocation of a doctor's certificate of registration. Ultimately, the senator said that Kho was “insane”, thereby having “no right to treat patients.”
KHO SPLASHED WITH WATER
Thursday, May 28th Halili and Hayden Kho appeared in the Senate at Pasay City for a hearing of the Senate committee on Youth, Women, and Family Relations purposely in aid of legislation. Shortly after Katrina Halili arrived at the Senate room, an ex-cop and Pagsanjan, Laguna mayor Abner Afuang splashed water directly on the head of Hayden Kho. Afuang, who wore a media badge, entered the committee room and approached Kho with a bottle of mineral water. Senator Madrigal quickly ordered the Senate Security to “arrest that man”. Senate security personnel immediately arrested Afuang, who claimed that he was irritated by Kho’s alleged abuses on the women. Afuang said he also has a daughter and he felt violated by Kho’s sex videos, some of which were posted on the Internet. Senate security officials on Thursday night said they were set to file charges against tabloid columnist Abner Afuang for disturbing the inquiry of a Senate committee. Kho’s lawyer Lorna Kapunan stressed that this kind of incident is what they are trying to avoid that’s why they kept on insisting an executive session, a “closed door” hearing.

SENATE’S ACTION
Meanwhile, Madrigal said a measure should be crafted and passed to protect women like Halili from sexual abuse through cyber-pornography. Actress Katrina Halili may have been a victim of Hayden Kho Jr., but the doctor was also a victim of a drug syndicate, Senator Ma. Ana Consuelo "Jamby" Madrigal said Thursday.
DRUG ISSUE
Embattled doctor, Hayden Kho admitted of using ecstasy, an illegal drug that gives the user a feeling of elation, strength, confidence, removes a person's inhibition and results to being hypersexual and reckless. However he refused to name his supplier so as not to compromise the safety of his family due to alleged death threats to him and his family. He likewise said that Katrina offered him to take two ecstasy before they slept together at the Holiday Inn in 2007. "Every time we see each other there was no conversation. It was all drugs and sex," Kho added. Halili immediately rebutted, saying that they both loved each other and that the actress even introduced Kho to her family.
